Pastor Kenneth is truly a leader with a passion to come into the fullness of the Most High God. He was licensed and ordained in 1989 by Drs. Leo and Elaine Hackett while serving as Assistant Pastor at Elohim Outreach Christian Center. He attended Christian Life School of Theology and received his degree in 1999. Pastor Barbour founded Establish Covenant Ministries in 2000 in Richmond, Virginia. For the past 22 years, he has been serving within the Richmond City Jail and the Justice Center, visiting every Monday and Thursday to minister to incarcerated men. His mission is to bring men to Christ and provide them with the support and social skills needed to help restore them successfully back into the community and to rebuild relationships with their families. Pastor Barbour now serves as Executive Director for Kingdom Life Recovery.

Gilbert Howard

Gilbert Howard

House Director

Gilbert serves as the dedicated House Director at Kingdom Life Recovery, where he plays a vital role in guiding and supporting the men in the program on their journey to restoration and independence. With a strong background in leadership and hands-on work, Gilbert brings both discipline and compassion to his role. He is the owner of H & C Lawn Care, demonstrating his entrepreneurial drive and commitment to excellence. Professionally, he works as an Electrical Mechanic for Colonial Webb, where he applies his technical expertise daily. Gilbert also has experience in security and operations, having served as the Lead Loss Prevention Officer at the Market @ 25th Grocery Store. His diverse experience, work ethic, and deep commitment to community make him a powerful mentor and steady presence in the Kingdom Life Recovery household.

Bob Bush

Board Chair

Bob Bush is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan and has lived in Richmond, VA since 1992. He has worked in multiple sales leadership roles and is a member of Grove Ave. Baptist Church where he has served in multiple lay leadership functions. Bob received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration at Hope College in Holland, Michigan and his Masters of Business Administration from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA.

Mark Holpe

Mark Holpe

Mark was born in 1951 in Roanoke, VA. He graduated in 1973 from the University of Richmond with an accounting degree and in 1975 from William & Mary with an MBA. He passed his CPA exam in 1980 and worked in department store and retail financial management until 1995. Mark owned and operated seven small service businesses until 2012, when he retired.

Melody C. Gratic is a certified John Maxwell Coach, Teacher, Trainer and Speaker, and Certified Behavioral Analysis Trainer and Consultant. She is a phenomenal strategic thinker, passionate motivational speaker and servant leader, well-known for connecting with a multicultural, multigenerational and global workforce. Melody founded XcelMil, LLC on the premise of providing exceptional, value-based, and relevant services to stakeholders and partners that significantly impact business and personal transformation. Melody retired from the U.S. Army with 24 years of active service. She is most proud to have served at the White House Transportation Agency under President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama, and at US Army Garrison Brussels in support of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. She has supervised and trained countless service members on critical hard and soft skills and has served as a Team Lead/Training Coordinator on several mission trips to Mozambique, Africa; Onnville, Haiti; and Rancho de Sus, Mexico. Melody holds a Master of Educational Leadership in Administration from Trident International University and an undergraduate degree from Nazarene Bible College. She is the current CEO and Founder of XcelMil, LLC, an Executive Management Consulting Firm specializing in leadership development, business transformation, coaching, and professional services.

Dr. Eric de Nijs

Dr. Eric de Nijs is an executive coach with over 25 years of experience helping people and organizations achieve improved performance. His background includes working with CEOs, senior and middle managers, high potentials, and key individual contributors across diverse industries including food, consumer products, manufacturing, financial services, healthcare, defense, energy, and county and federal governments. As a leadership coach, Eric works with CEOs, senior level executives, department managers and teams to maximize leadership effectiveness and organizational culture. He helps individuals and organizations develop new capacities and perspectives on their resources, capabilities, opportunities and problems. His background in continuous improvement and coaching lends to a unique approach in solving problems and developing leaders. Dr. de Nijs has written a book titled "Playing in a Bigger Space," is co-author of "Authentic Communication" and is a contributing author of "Excellence in Leadership Coaching." He is a part-time instructor and co-program director of Georgetown University's Leadership Coaching program and an adjunct faculty member of the Center for Creative Leadership.

Steven was born in Winnsboro, SC in 1970. He served 24 years in the United States Army from July 1988 to September 2012. He earned a BA in Business Administration from Columbia College in 2005, an MBA from Jones International University in 2010, and a Master's Degree in Information Technology from Keller School of Management in 2019. Steven currently works as a Senior Technical Trainer in Arlington, VA.

Edward Rick

Edward Rick is an Executive Vice President and Director of Institutional Services at Carillon Tower Advisors, an asset management firm based in St. Petersburg, Florida. He has been involved with Kingdom Life Recovery since meeting several members of the program in 2010. He attends Calvary Baptist Church in Clearwater, Florida where he serves in the Children's Ministry with his wife, Lorrie and daughter, Elena.
