Darryl Cousins
My name is Darryl Cousins and overcoming my drug, alcohol and street life was nothing but God’s hand on my life. I was in and out of jail for years, and it took a toll, but one time when I was incarcerated I began to see God in a different light, through the KLM jail ministry. I saw me for who I was and how I was causing more harm than good. I gave my life to God and things begin to turn around for me.
I am currently in active recovery and have been clean and sober for eight years. After never paying court fines, my court fines ballooned to $15,000 dollars, but now paid in full. I am currently the owner & operator of Style & Grace Catering Services.
Throughout this process, I have been building my relationship with God. Additionally, I have developed great relationships through KLM that have helped me grow and experience continued success.
I thank God for KLM and it’s impact on my life. With God all things are possible to those who believe.
Gilbert Howard
My name is Gilbert Howard and my life spiraled out of control from selling and using drugs. I was in and out of jail and prison due to my addictive lifestyle. My life changed when I was at the Richmond City jail and hearing and seeing something that caught my interest. I humbled myself to go through the KLM program and it changed my life and I received salvation in Christ.
Now eight years later after paying over $20,000 in fines and other bills that had accumulated over the years, God gave me a plan. Today all my fines are paid off, I have received my voting rights, and most importantly, I have my whole family back in my life. I am a current house manager for Kingdom Life Ministry and now helping other men to recover as I recovered with the help of KLM.
With God in my life, I am now committed to a lifestyle of being clean and sober every day.
Timothy Green
My name is Timothy Green and I have been in and out of jail, on drugs for more than half of my life, an absent father, brother, uncle, husband (when I was married) and friend. I had suicidal thoughts and almost acted on a few on them. The people I loved I kept hurting until I was incarcerated and got a chance to go into the KLM program and totally changed my life, God came in and had a bigger plan for my life. It was not an overnight thing because I had to do some work myself.
Now I have been off drugs for 8 years, I am an active father, brother, uncle, friend and now a manager at Ashley Furniture Store, I have my rights back, voted for the first time and I can walk down the street with my head held high.
